Where Is The Gallbladder?

Cholecystectomy - the surgical removal of the gallbladder. You can read this even on WikiPedia when you start to read about "Gallbladder". I feel sometimes that gallbladder removal is a kind of obsession. "Humans can live without a gallbladder" - yes, it's totally true, but I'd prefer to keep mine, thank you!

Ok, so let's take a short look where you can find the gallbladder:

Where is the gallbladder

The gallbladder is at the right hand of the baby. I put a red dot there.

If you have gallstones in your gallbladder than you can have bilious attacks. It's very painful and if you can't start to dissolve your gallstones, then the surgical removal is the only option.

Do you want to be sure? Go to have an ultrasound and they can check your gallbladder. Heart attack and bilious attack have similar symptoms so you have to be cautious!

My name is Balazs and I have gallstones. I had 7 bilious attacks (5 in the first week). I had only 2 in the last 4 months. I show you how I do it.

  • Age: 37
  • Diagnosis: 2 or more gallstones
  • Symptom since: February 1, 2014
  • My goal: to become asymptomatic without operation

Your stones, your responsibility

Thank you for following my experiment! Please keep in mind that doctors would never suggest my strategy. It's my body and my responsibility.

Gallstones - Prevention

Eat radish! Radish should be your favorite vegetable.

I want to avoid gallbladder surgery!

Gallstones - Treatment

Medical treatment:

  • Oral ursodeoxycholic acid
  • Lithotripsy

Cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal):

  • Open cholecystectomy
  • Laparoscopic cholecystectomy

My strategy:

  • To eat radish and fat whenever I can
  • To consider it as a lifestyle, not a treatment
  • To believe in me
